The Language Exchange

Welcome to our Language Exchange! This blog is a platform for my students to publish their own texts in the languages I teach them. I think this might be a good way to motivate them to learn languages. Feel free to comment on the posts. And please be nice. (Every student has written an introductory post, usually accompanied by a photo. You can find them in the archives.)

Tanning ban for young people - by Klara

The German government wants to keep young people from going to tanning salons because it can cause cancer. Especially children and the young are at risk. Politicians are planning a new certificate for tanning salons, which guarantees less damage to the skin. Skin cancer is the most common kind of cancer in Germany. There are about 60 000 sunbeds all over Germany.

My hero - by Anna-Lena

This is Emma Watson. She is the actress who plays Hermione in the Harry Potter films. She is my hero because she is good at school and works hard to make films and go to school at the same time. Emma is loyal and nice although she is famous. I like the way she looks, too.

A poem - by Annika

Annika had to write a poem for school. Here's what we worked out together:

The wind blows straight across the hills,
turning fast the blades of many mills.
The sky gets black,
which sends back
everyone to their shack.
Lightning illuminates the canopy,
scaring the wits out of me.
After the terrifying thunderstorm
I feel as though I were reborn.

My dream birthday - by Ilka

My birthday is on 25th September. My dream present is a horse or a pony. I'll have a big party with all my friends and a little party with my family. That's my dream birthday.
