The Language Exchange

Welcome to our Language Exchange! This blog is a platform for my students to publish their own texts in the languages I teach them. I think this might be a good way to motivate them to learn languages. Feel free to comment on the posts. And please be nice. (Every student has written an introductory post, usually accompanied by a photo. You can find them in the archives.)

New Year's Eve - by Anna-Lena

This year on New Year's Eve I am going to start a party at my place with all my friends. As it is my birthday on New Year's Day, we celebrate two parties actually. :-) There will be about 25 people. We will have a lot of food and drinks. One of my friends is going to be the DJ. I am very much looking forward to being 15, because then I will be able to ride my own scooter. I have already passed my exam.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone!

Christmas Eve - by Lynn

Here's how Lynn celebrates Christmas Eve:

After putting up and decorating the Christmas tree, we go to church on December 24th. Then we unwrap our presents. After that we eat dinner. In my family we usually prepare a fondue with meat. While our parents continue to eat, my sister and I try out our new toys.
How do you spend Christmas Eve?

A Christmas letter - by Justine

Hi all!
As it is soon going to be Christmas, I thought I'd write you a letter. How are you? I hope you're all feeling good! Are you looking forward to the many presents and celebrating Christmas with your family? I think everyone does.
On Christmas Eve my family and I celebrate at home and on Christmas Day we go to see my grandparents. How do you do this in your family? This year we decocrate our Christmas tree with Barbie kids (Shellies). My mother made little costumes for them, so they look like cute angels. Funny, isn't it?
I wish you all a merry Christmas!
Best wishes,
Justine

My Christmas - by Mathias

Before leaving for the holidays, Mathias wrote a quick summary of how he spends Christmas:

On 24th December I go to church with my family. After church we get presents and we play with them while my mother prepares dinner. Then we eat.

Maybe people from other countries can tell us what they do on Christmas?
