The Language Exchange

Welcome to our Language Exchange! This blog is a platform for my students to publish their own texts in the languages I teach them. I think this might be a good way to motivate them to learn languages. Feel free to comment on the posts. And please be nice. (Every student has written an introductory post, usually accompanied by a photo. You can find them in the archives.)

Practical Training - by Patrick

In the 10th grade we have to do a practical training for three weeks to get a glimpse into a worker's life. I have chosen the job of a tanner. There is a factory near my place where I can do this. I begin work at 6h00 every day and finish at 14h00. Such a working day is very tiring and I sleep a lot. Of course, I can't do the actual tasks of a tanner yet, so I have to sort out the bad from the good leather. At the end of my training I will have to present my experience to the class and the teacher.

No school! - by Anna-Lena

Today there was no school! We have so much snow and ice that no buses are running. There is so much snow on some ways and streets that it is difficult to get through on foot or by car. From some roofs there are meter-long icicles hanging down (see photo).

I hope tomorrow will be no school, either!
