The Language Exchange

Welcome to our Language Exchange! This blog is a platform for my students to publish their own texts in the languages I teach them. I think this might be a good way to motivate them to learn languages. Feel free to comment on the posts. And please be nice. (Every student has written an introductory post, usually accompanied by a photo. You can find them in the archives.)

Pollution of the environment - by Daniel

Today I want to write about the pollution of the environment. You can see it anywhere. In every big city you see rubbish on the streets. Or all the gases of the cars. For short ways you can go by bike or on foot, or take the bus. God hasn't given this world to us to pollute it. We should be more friendly to our earth. Don´t throw your rubbish on the ground. Make some effort and take it to the next rubbish container. Nature will thank you for this.
If you don't know how to help click on the headline to this post and you will be forwarded to Greenpeace where you will find some information.

Pollution is an important issue and it´s very important that people think about the consequences of their actions. I work with environmental issues and I have to say that there is a lot work to do. And most of the issues are not only black and white. Besides pollution you have to consider the right of earning ones living eaven though it would mean pollution.

hi.
pollution is really a big headache of our human beings. i think people should treat our earth just like our mum, if so, no one will do any damage to the earth. and we should be grateful to the land.
actually, here in China, there is also a serious polltion problem.

Hi Haze,
Thank you for your comment. Does your government do anything against the pollution? What do you do in your daily life to help protect the environment?
Your comparison is very good. If everybody thought so, we would have a better environment.
I look forward to your reply.

Hi,Daniel,
Every government definitely concerns about the environment since it relates to every aspect of people's life. Firstly, is the law which is in my opinion the most powerful tool. For example,in china every factory has to meet a series of standards according to the law, like what kind of chemicals can be included in the water which the factory pours out. Factories must clean those "industrial water" which may contain poisonous substances. However, those equipment may cost factories a lot, and some small factories cannot afford it.So our government may gather those small factories together in an area, then collect their industrial waste to be disposed together. It is something like that several factories SHARE the waste-desposal equipment.
Secondly, is the education. Many private and secondary schools here provide some courses in order to make those teenagers have a sense of environmental protection. I think in this way, the next generation would do better than now.
But still we have to try more. Laws should be well and strictly carried out; People have to take more responsibilities, and so on.
For me myself, I concerned about the resources problem most. In the daily life, I never forget to save water and electricity.(I would not like to see nowadays people carried out WARS because of the resources.I hate WAR.)
Wish the world peace. And wish everyone including me myself would do more for the world's good.

Hi,Daniel
You may try some topics like computers(or internet), the one who influenced you most(or some places, things or books...); or you may try something more serious, like war, government, women politicians and so forth.
Because I've no idea about your age,I'm not quite sure whether those topics suit you well. Just some suggestions.
Nice day~
smile,
Haze
