The Language Exchange

Welcome to our Language Exchange! This blog is a platform for my students to publish their own texts in the languages I teach them. I think this might be a good way to motivate them to learn languages. Feel free to comment on the posts. And please be nice. (Every student has written an introductory post, usually accompanied by a photo. You can find them in the archives.)

Going abroad - by Patrick

Should I go to another country for one year, I would go to Malta. I hope I can make some new friends and meet other people there. It would be very good for my English, because the people there speak English as their native language. I hope to stay with a nice host family. Maybe they have a child who is my age. Malta is famous for its old temples from the Stone Age. When you go abroad you can always learn something about the other culture.
But there are some worries, too. You must leave your family and friends behind. Perhaps you will get homesick and miss your country. You might be very lonely. And understanding the language can be very hard for you.
What's your opinion? Have you ever been to another country?
